How to easily stand out on Google locally...

For many years now Google has offered a service to get your business easily ranked on local searches. Formally know as Google Places, Google My Business is one of the easiest ways to feature on the search engine if you're a smaller business that relies on getting customers locally.
If you are not already using this tool then you may find there is already a Google My Business listing set up for your company; it's important to take management of this as it may feature wrong information. There are a whole host of benefits to having a listing, which include getting noticed by potential customers, generating more business and managing your reputation.
Your business will not only feature in Google searches, but you'll also show up on Maps which will give your business more exposure to not only locals, but those who are visiting the area too and using Maps to get around.
Your listing will also encourage customers to leave your business a review (which helps with ranking your business higher above your local competition), visit your website, view your opening times and get in touch with you straight away.
We wouldn't recommend relying on just a Google My Business listing to get your website ranking, but it's certainly a useful tool and will help increase sales.
